About Cupcake Graphics

My name is Karen Pryor. I am a work-at-home mom with three small children. I enjoy doing graphic design, as well as many other forms of artwork, such as drawing and painting. In fact, I incorporate my own artwork into many of my designs.

Initially, I started Cupcake Graphics as a t-shirt business, when I saw moms looking for personalized t-shirts to commemorate their children's birthdays. Many designs simply included a predetermined graphic and the child's name and birthdate. Others used licensed characters (illegally?) but could not be personalized. I wanted to create a shirt that was fully customizable, from the themes and graphics chosen to the ability to include photos of the child on the finished product. These shirts could be a keepsake added to a child's baby book and treasured for years to come.

At the suggestion of a friend, I also added custom grab bags to my product line. These bags could be designed to fit the theme of any party and can include the child's name and birthdate as well.

As I created the designs for these products, I became more and more skilled in graphic design. I designed grab bags not only for parties, but also for businesses to use to distribute samples, coupons, and product information. I began using these skills to design advertisements as well, and I discovered that my true passion is graphic design. As my focus shifted, I again changed my product line to sell heat transfers instead of the actual t-shirts. This allowed me to concentrate on design, while giving my customers the freedom to choose their own t-shirt style.

These things have all shaped Cupcake Graphics into the business it is today - shirt transfers, grab bags, and beautiful graphic design.
